Rotary Club Book Drive Provides Thousands of Books to North Carolina Kids

Leto Copeley participated in the Hillsborough Rotary Club’s exceptionally successful  book drive, a nine-month campaign to collect children’s literature for local organizations that work to improve literacy among low-income children in Durham, Orange, Lee, Johnston and Wake counties.  The project was a group effort of District 7710 of Rotary International, which includes all the Rotary clubs in the counties covered by the book drive.   Nearly 52,000 books were collected, far exceeding the District’s goal of 45,000. CJG client Jason Peck speaks out on behalf of sexual abuse survivors

The Charlotte Observer has published an in-depth look at the case of Jason Peck v. William Airey, which Seth Langson, Konrad Kircher, Marc Pearlman and Leto Copeley filed in Ohio on behalf of the plaintiff Dr. Peck.  The case is now in discovery. Seeking witnesses with information about abuse in Wake County foster care

Lawsuit filed against Burke County Schools over sexual abuse of child

Moose International announces CEO Airey will not be in contact with residential students at Mooseheart until further notice

On Thursday, December 13, 2012, Moose International spokesman Kurt Wehrmeister announced that William Airey, CEO and Director General, would not be in contact with residential students at Mooseheart Child City and School until further notice.   The statement came in response to the filing of a lawsuit that morning in Ohio by Leto Copeley and three other law firms alleging that Airey sexually abused their client, Jason Peck, when he was 12 years old and the two were neighbors.  Wehrmeister said that Airey is currently away from the office but that upon his return, the Board of Moose...
